FC Banik Ostrava (CZE)

FC Baník Ostrava is a famous Czech football club based in Silesian part of the city of Ostrava. Founded in 1922 as SK Slezská Ostrava, Baník is one of the most traditional clubs in the country – it has won numerous national and international trophies including four Czech nationalship titles (1976, 1980, 1981, 2004). Currently, however, plays only second division after last season relegation.

Baník have produced numerous players who have gone on to represent the Czech national football team. The most famous players being linked to the club are Milan Baroš, Marek Jankulovski, Pavel Srniček, Tomáš Galásek, Václav Svěrkoš, René Bolf, Luděk Mikloško or Verner Lička.
